Current cookie use

FreelancerGuard uses storage technologies needed to operate the service, such as Clerk authentication/session cookies when you sign in and anonymous usage cookies before signup.

We also use PostHog analytics to understand product usage and improve conversion funnels. We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting scripts, or social media trackers.

Strictly necessary technologies

  • Clerk authentication cookies: used to keep signed-in users authenticated and protect account sessions.
  • Anonymous usage cookies: used to count free scans and email generations before signup and prevent abuse.
  • Security and routing technologies required by the hosting and application platform.

Local storage

The Red Flag Detector does not store raw inquiry text in browser local storage. Inquiry text is processed for scoring and then discarded by the app unless you create a shareable scan result, in which case only the score, categories, matched patterns, verdict, and slug are saved.

Analytics and marketing cookies

PostHog may set analytics cookies or similar identifiers to measure pageviews, feature usage, funnel performance, and AI generation observability. These analytics help us improve FreelancerGuard and are not used for advertising resale.

Changing preferences

Authentication and anonymous usage cookies are required for account security, free-limit enforcement, and abuse prevention. For analytics preferences or privacy questions, use the footer's "Your Privacy Choices" link or contact hello@freelancerguard.fyi.
